2027 4-star safety Kennedy Green decommits from Mississippi State

Mableton (Ga.) Douglas County four-star safety Kennedy Green has decommitted from Mississippi State, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder was one of just two pledges in the Bulldogs’ 2027 recruiting class. He originally committed to MSU on Nov. 24.
Green is the No. 182 overall prospect and No. 21 safety in the 2027 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 25 player in Georgia in his class.
Green has seen his recruitment tick up a notch since he first came off the board back in the fall. Recent offers include Mizzou, Ole Miss, Miami, Wake Forest, Maryland, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Gearing up for his junior season at one of the top high school football programs in the Peach State, Green is now back on the board and will work through his recruiting process once again.

“I will be playing safety, and really all the safety positions from strong to free and to nickel. I want to get better in everything,” Green told Maroon and White Daily last month. “The season last year ended a little short so I want to get better and get that one step closer to winning state. That is really the plan.”
On June 2, Petal (Miss.) punter Gunnar Gillentine committed to Jeff Lebby and the Bulldogs. He’s now the lone member of the 2027 pledge list in Starkville.
Mississippi State’s 2026 class currently features nine commits and ranks No. 47 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Macon (Miss.) Noxubee County three-star athlete Jaiden Taylor and Kingston (Ga.) Cass three-star quarterback Brodie McWhorter are the top two pledges in the class to date.
